Ridge Dwelling

In front of this East Bay Hills compound, the home appears to hug the rustic park-like landscape to its bosom, then flow through the parallel plans of the glass doors to the back.  As it emerges it appears to be a simplified version of itself—verdant soft ground plane with flowing perimeters of mounding grassy motion. The patio and decks embrace the garden and pool while offering generous views of the designed gardens and surrounding oak woodlands.  Multiple seating areas take advantage of the indoor/outdoor layout of the house and make one feel part of the gardens, views, and still close to the house if there is a need to step in for a forgotten item.
